Hold Point sets no cookies and runs no analytics or ad scripts. The one thing it records is a tap on a Get the app button, written to a log on the server side and listed field by field below.
01Reading and practicing
Pages, tags, the mock clock and the study-plan date all run inside the open tab. Your picks and scores aren't sent anywhere, and they're gone when you reload. Fonts and scripts load from this domain, so a page view calls no font, analytics or ad service.
The hosting provider that serves the files sees your IP address, as any web server does, and may keep routine request logs.
02When you tap Get the app
Every “Get the app” button on this site points at go.cwi-weld-inspector.com/app, a redirect we run on the same edge network that serves these pages. Where it sends you depends on your device: an iPhone or iPad goes straight to the App Store; another phone goes to this site's practice test; a computer gets a small landing page with an App Store badge and a link to practice in the browser. Each of those requests writes one line to our click log. If you then tap a badge or link on the landing page, it passes through go.cwi-weld-inspector.com/out/ and writes a second line before sending you on.
The edge server writes the line itself, after it has answered you. It isn't a cookie, there's no script, and we don't store an ID in your browser.

Requests that only check the link (HEAD) aren't logged. Requests whose user-agent says they're a bot are marked as bots and left out of our counts. The rest of the site keeps no logs of its own and sets no cookies.
03What happens to the click log

- Counting which pages and buttons send readers on to the app, and telling people from bots.
- Not used for
- Advertising, resale or a profile of you. Nothing in a log line carries your name or email address.

- There's no automatic expiry on these lines today.
